Sweetgreen and Square Roots are teaming up to bring sweetgreen customers straight to the source of their local urban produce. Square Roots Resident Entrepreneur Maxwell Carmack will give you a look into his hydroponic, controlled-climate farm - located in Brooklyn. He'll give a rundown on modern urban farming, his delicious greens, and why shortening the distribution chain allows for greater transparency in the food system. Head back to the office to taste his greens as a part of a local sweetgreen dinner and chat with Max and other members of the Square Roots team.
There will be giveaways including a private tour of Max's farm plus a harvest experience at Square Roots and an office lunch with Max and a free delivery of greens straight to your office or other local hub. Square Roots’ mission is to empower entrepreneurial leaders through real food and the more of us working towards the real food revolution, the better. Hope to see you there!
Directions: The Square Roots Farm is inside the "old Pfizer factory", which is located at 630 Flushing Ave, Brooklyn. The best way in is via Tompkins Avenue - which is the entrance to the factory's parking lot. When you get here, aim for the main lobby of the building (that will be obvious) and head up to the 3rd floor. From there, just follow the signs for Square Roots. If you get completely lost, please call Christa at (862) 251-1529.
NOTE: THERE ARE NO PUBLIC PARKING SPACES HERE, but the J, M and G trains are all super close and there is plenty of street parking. If you are coming from Manhattan, we are barely 10 mins across the Williamsburg Bridge.
